Our football, cricket and golf academies endeavour to hone the sporting talents of our students. Maintaining a competitive edge, the academies will push every student to reach their potential.

Students can join one of the academies alongside their full-time course and also have the opportunity to become a Student Athlete, receiving a number of benefits. We’ve had many students progress from our sports academies into a variety of sporting careers, including as professional players. Could you be next?

After studying a Level 3 Sport Course and being part of the Football Academy, Grigg was scouted playing in the Solihull Moors youth team and now plays first team football for Wigan Athletic Football Club. He has gained a number of Under-21 appearances for his country before making his full International debut for Northern Ireland in a match against The Netherlands in June 2012.

How to Get Involved

The College offers a Student Athlete Scheme in which students will be given access to free gym membership, free physio sessions, free training schemes and free college sports wear. In return for this we expect those in the scheme to attend some open days and apply themselves with role model behaviour for parents and prospective students.

For full details of eligibility information and trial dates, please see the Sports Academies section of the Solihull College & University Centre website:
